The Horrors Of Cori It came from the depths to seek another victim! Its unrelation to reality as we know it drives good men mad and blackens the sun! Some might even go as far to say it's... mediocre! IT'S- Cori Falls Team Rocket site! http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Alien/6179/ You first get the inkling that something's not right at the splash page. Happy Team Rocket, fine... but with a wuvvy duvvy rose photoshopped behind them. And the text "It's time for the stars to shine and the roses to bloom!"... To be fair, Team Rocket would say something like that. They're very melodramatic. But still... something seems off. Then you enter the site and see Team Rocket posed against a large heart, with "A White Today Is Here!" and then you know... you know you're DAMNED TO HELL! In fact, the front page is so terrifying, I refuse to touch it with a ten-foot pole and instead, I leave its analysis to the Mystery Science Theatre guys. - > Hello, and welcome to A White Today, and a White Tomorrow! Servo: AHA! RACISM! Mike: Actually, it's a quote from Team Rocket's Japanese motto. Servo: ... AHA! RACISM AMONG TEAM ROCKET! > This site is my tribute to Jessie, James & Meowth -- the REAL stars (and heroes) of Pokemon! Crow: (Cori) Character mutilation and sappy backdrops! What better way to tribute Team Rocket?! > When my site first opened Crow: ...the sky turned dark, dogs and cats lay together, Denmark sank into the sea, there was a gnashing of teeth... > it was just a small shrine devoted to Rocketshipping. But before long, it grew and evolved Mike: Sorta like viruses. > into a site that was not only about Rocketshipping Servo: But RACISM! Mike: Stop that. > but Team Rocket in general as well. Crow: And by Team Rocket in general, we don't mean the real Team Rocket. We mean an Alternate Reality version of them where they suck. > And now, my site has evolved again! Servo: (site) I've figured out how to use the fire and make the wheel and everything! > Worry not -- it's still all about why Jessie, James, Meowth, and their pokemon rule Crow: Their contributions towards interpretive dance. Mike: Their many, many brave attempts to rid the world of the horror of Pikachu. Servo: Their heroic championship of a man's right to wear a skirt. > and why Jessie & James are one of the best couples ever Crow: Because nothing says "best couples ever!" like the woman beating the man over the head with blunt objects every time he leaves the toilet seat up! Mike: Now, to be fair, they make a lovely couple. It's just not a very normal one- Crow: Due to them being nucking futz? Mike: Precisely. > , but the focus has shifted somewhat. Because of serious constraints on my disk space and bandwidth (and because I just don't have the time to maintain a large site), I've had to streamline the content. Mike: And by streamlining, she means "dumping nearly everything made by everyone else". Crow: (Cori) All right, it's not about bandwith at all, it's about my ego. What of it? > Since the main reason I started this site was because I wanted a place to showcase my stories Servo: Good reason. Keep them contained there, and they won't infect the rest of the net. > (and because I wanted to give Jessie, James & Meowth the recognition and respect they deserve) Mike: Don't the fans give them recognition already? Crow: Ah, but Mike, they recognise them for who they are on the show and not because of their twoo luv happy-sappy relationship. Clearly, that's the most important thing about them. If you're HIGH! Mike: I sense anger within you. Crow: I read one of her fic's. Team Rocket have tame, non-graphic sex and say "making love" over "copulation" and "fucking". I was betrayed. > I've simply gone back to basics. Servo: AHA! A HIPPY! > But I didn't make this change because of technical reasons alone (though I must admit that scaling back has taken a lot of the stress out of my schedule, and the technical malfunctions have been fewer and farther between since then). I also needed to change the layout so that I can concentrate more on my writing... Mike: Let us give a silent prayer for the former site, that bravely kept Cori from concentrating on writing more of her fics. [All bow their heads] > and I needed to do it so that I can accentuate the fact that my stories are now following a different timeline from that of the Pokemon anime. Mike: Oh, everyone does that. After all, fanfics often change parts of the timeline- Crow: Yeah, but she means "throwing out canon and pretending my stuff is the real canon". Mike: You're joking. Crow: Oh yeah? I'll bet a five I'm NOT! Mike: You're on! > I love J, J & M, and I love writing stories about them, but I'm extremely disappointed in the show itself these days. Servo: (Cori) The simple plots, the characterisation, the never-bloody battles- why, it's like they're making Pokemon for little kids! > The disrespect and cruelty with which J, J & M are constantly treated has been upsetting me for a long time now Servo: Well, how do you think THEY feel about it?! Mike: I thought the disrespect was part of their appeal. Y'know, the underdogs and all that? Servo: You forget, the real reason Team Rocket are popular is because of their twoo luv. Mike: Oh yeah. >it got real old real fast back in the first season, and it keeps getting progressively worse with every passing season! Crow: Has it? Mike: Looked the same to me. > X_x Servo: AHA! SHE'S KILLED A SMILIE! Mike: ...what? Servo: X's for eyes? Sign of deadness! SHE'S A MURDERER! Mike: It was never alive in the first place! Servo: AHA! SHE'S A BABY-STRANGLER! Mike: This isn't like you. Are you just acting up so you'll be chucked out and won't have to read the website text? Servo: ...Yes. > It's gotten to the point where I just can't incorporate it into my fanfics anymore -- it's starting to interfere with my ability to tell a good story and flesh out the characters in a positive, meaningful way. Crow: (Cori) And by that, I mean MY way. > Thus the reason I had to shift away from canon and start doing my own thing. Crow: HA! You see? Pay up, Mike! Mike: OK, OK... > I'd rather pull out all the stops to portray our heroes as the loving, intelligent characters that they are, move past all of the shippy hinting and sexual tension and get down to the nitty-gritty of Jessie & James's romantic relationship, Crow: She wants to write about their use of strap-ons and bondage? Mike: Crow! That's perverted and... now I think of it, that's the sort of thing Team Rocket WOULD do. > and show J, J & M coming to terms with their difficult pasts Servo: (Cori) Of course they've done that on the show, but there wasn't kissing enough in those episodes! > and moving forward with their lives than spend all my time explaining away and "correcting" all of the bad stuff that happens to them on the show, anyway. Servo: So... she's ignoring all the conflict and adversity the characters face on the show because it's "bad"? I told you she was a hippy, but would you listen? > Needless to say, you won't find any TR-bashing or anti-Rocketshippiness here. Not now, not ever. Crow: No shit, Sherlock. > J, J & M deserve so much better than the show, the media, and the like have ever given them, so this site is all about giving them the happiness, love, respect, and success that they so richly deserve. Mike: And about boring the hell out of the rest of us. > The only thing you'll find here is the truth Crow: (Marlon Brando) YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! > that Jessie is a sweet and beautiful person despite her tough nature Mike: No she's not. > that James is smart, strong, and sexy Mike: No he's not. Crow: Is it just me, or has she Gary Stu-ed James? Mike: Poor bastard. > that Jessie & James are deeply, deeply in love with each other, Crow: And use strap-ons. > and that Meowth, Ekans/Arbok, Koffing/Weezing, Lickitung, Victreebel, Growly, and Wobbuffet are the cutest, coolest, most kick-ass pokemon in existence! Servo: Eh, I'll give her that. Crow: What?! You fool! She is claiming a list of kick-ass Pokemon and she forgot Bulbasaur! She is a blasphemer! > And you won't find any depressing or overly-dark fanfics here either. Mike: Read, "nothing with actual conflict and tension". > All of the stories that I write and stories by other authors that I've posted have positive outcomes -- none of the main characters die, nobody is raped or involved in creepy pairings, nobody sustains permanent injuries, nobody is gratuitously tortured, etc. This is a safe haven for Jessie, James & Meowth (and the fans who love them)! Crow: So if you read fanfics without positive endings, you're not a Team Rocket fan? Mike: And if you write them, you're a terrorist. Crow: Oh of course. > And while we're on the subject, this site is also a safe haven for Gary -- another character that I like...and incidentally, another character who gets a bum-rap on the show and from the media. Servo: What?! The show and media have him as a highly-skilled badass mofo who outclasses Ash in every way! Crow: Servo, pond scum outclasses Ash in every way. It's hardly something to be proud of. > On this site, however, Gary gets the respect he deserves...and he's friends with Jessie, James & Meowth! Mike: *sniff sniff* I spell canon mutilation... > It's called Katakishipping (a term coined by my good friend, Shigeru1313 ^_^), and I support it as steadfastly as I do Rocketshipping. Crow: Except Gary doesn't get to have sex with anyone in the fanfics. Sucker! > Which brings me to the point of this introduction. Mike: ...there was a point? > I've named my site A White Today, and a White Tomorrow because Tom: (Cori) I'm racist. Mike: Stop doing that! Tom: Or what? Mike: Or I'll force you to look at that Pokemon hentai site we found, featuring the Pokemon/Jessie fanart. Tom: I'll be good. > it's devoted to why J, J & M are so wonderful and why they deserve to be happy. I got the "White Tomorrow" part from Kojiro's line of the Japanese motto, where he says that a white tomorrow is waiting for him and his friends. Crow: I'm with Tom here, that does sound pretty racist. Mike: It probably loses something in translation. Maybe it should be "shiny tomorrow" or something. Crow: ...yeah, that does sound like James. > I interpret this line as meaning that no matter how many adversities they face, our heroes will never give up their dreams, and they're destined for a happy ending someday soon. Crow: But every time they never give up, they still get whomped! Really, they should give up and stay in bed, it'd be less painful. > I'd like nothing more than for J, J & M to have a happy ending on the show...but I also firmly believe that they deserve to be happy NOW! Mike: Now come on, James gets to crossdress as often as he wants. I bet he's very happy right now. > They already put up with more than their share of injustice and cruelty on the show, from the media, and even in fandom. Servo: Yeah. For starters, they're forced to be in Cori Fall's fanfiction. > They've more than paid their dues, so it's about friggin' time they caught a break! "A White Today" means that this site is just such a place -- a place where Jessie, James, Meowth, and their friends are loved and honored...and where the abuse they put up with on the show is invalidated, and the abuse they receive from other sources isn't tolerated. Mike: So a place where canon is ignored so we can feel all fuzzy and warm inside. Crow: This site is making me feel _something_ inside, and it's not warm fuzziness. > So, if you're an anti-shipper, somebody who hates Team Rocket, Servo: What would an anti-shipper TR-hater be doing looking up Rocketshippy websites? Mike: More to the point, what are WE doing looking up these sites? > or somebody who doesn't like my opinions or how I'm running my site, then I suggest you leave now. Crow: I _like_ this idea. > I know I've got some really strong beliefs when it comes to TR and Rocketshipping (and I certainly don't expect everybody to like that or agree with me), Mike: (Cori) I first realised this when I found myself trying to napalm Pokemopolis. > but I'm not forcing anybody to visit my site, and I'm not forcing my beliefs on anybody or hassling those who have different ideas and opinions, Servo: Apart from all that talking about how people with differing views aren't real Team Rocket fans, of course. > so it's pointless to flame me about my views on Team Rocket and Rocketshipping, my rejection of Pokemon canon, etc. If you don't like what I'm doing, just go somewhere else, and leave me alone -- it's as simple as that! Crow: Well, we COULD do that, but then this Livejournal would be pretty damn small, wouldn't it? > (Only idiots spend time visiting sites they don't like. Besides, it's stupid to pick a fight with me about something like this when the world is faced with so many REAL problems.) Crow: But it's fun! Mike: Visiting this site is fun? Crow: It is if you're high in meths. > To the curious, I cordially invite you to read on and learn of the wonderful characters that this site is all about Mike: Those strange, far-too-happy beings that look, sound and are named like Team Rocket, despite their little resemblence? > (and enjoy a pro-TR alternative to what we get on the show)! And if you love J, J & M and Rocketshipping as much as I do Crow: Then seek psychiatric help. > (and you're as fed-up with series canon as I am), then welcome to the new world -- a world where Ash Ketchum is shown for the idiotic loser that he is... Servo: The old world shows us he's a loser too. Along with the sky being blue, grass being green, water being wet... > a world where Jessie, James & Meowth are the happy, successful people that they deserve to be... Crow: (Team Rocket) And all thanks to playing the stock market and working the only stable financial investment is porn! Mike: This is depressingly accurate. > and above all, a world where love and friendship conquer all, and Rocketshippiness flourishes! Servo: So, Hell. - And this is just a FRACTION of the horrors awaiting you in... The Site That Cori Built! 10 decided | i can't decide ( 10 decided — i can't decide ) jajl on August 15th, 2004 09:19 pm (local) *cracks up* I'm dying over here! The Site That Cori Built must be its new name. And every time somebody mentions it, there should be the sound from nowhere of a musical sting and demonic laughter. Though perhaps that already happens. I actually think my favourite part of the site was 'Only idiots spend time visiting sites they don't like. *snicker* Idiots... and those in need of a laugh. Go on, MST the rest of the site! ;) (Reply) (Thread) (Link) Track This Eeveenighteevee on August 18th, 2004 01:51 am (local) Yes, Gary is such a good friend of Team Rocket. He even helped Ash beat them up. Oh, I love the way she claims canon is wrong. Sort of the same thing The Great Immortal Dangermouse did, only worse (anybody remember Dangermouse?). Cory actually claims that she is RIGHT, too. It was a sad, sad day in my life when she took down the rants. (Reply) (Thread) (Link) Track This jajl on August 18th, 2004 10:46 am (local) There were rants? And I never saw them? Woe! :( Do you think anybody has them saved somewhere? (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) (Link) Track This Eeveenighteevee on August 18th, 2004 11:30 pm (local) She had rants both from herself and from guests, mostly about how everybody else sucked. I particularly remember one about how LotR slash was a crime to God Tolkien. I can't think of anybody having them saved, but who knows - I can try to look around a bit once I get an internet connection that's not in the campus library. (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) (Link) Track This charles_rbcharles_rb on August 19th, 2004 05:48 am (local) I wrote some of those rants and once had a R*cketshippy fanfic on her site in my youth. Thing is, I DD agree with her dislike of Beatleslash, real person slash feels wrong to me. But I'd never call anyone who LIKED Beatleslash a bad person and say they didn't have the right to call themselves a fan!! (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) (Link) Edit Delete Track This Eeveenighteevee on September 5th, 2004 11:16 pm (local) Yes, because you can't like a character if you do mean things to them. Like kill them. If I'm not completely wrong, she had a long rant about how it made her cry when people killed Jesse and/or James and reunited them in heaven (and then she wrote a fanfic to rid herself of that trauma). And it was so wonderful how "bad fanfiction" never had anything to do with characterization, language or simply the plot. What made a fanfic bad or good was whether you treated the characters nicely or not. I'm not too keen on RPS at all, but you do have to admit that John x John is a wonderful, wonderful place. (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) (Link) Track This your entitled savage bitch :D: Rebeccasarajayechan on September 6th, 2004 03:40 am (local) Ah, yes. "A Warm Place", "Forever" (which has been taken down...damn! I wanted to MST it!), and "Broken Souls". --; Pure unadulterated CRAP. And "Forever", as someone on the TRHQ forum said, was a slap in the face to anyone who has lost someone. "If your love was more pure and true and shiny you could bring them back!". *twitches* And it was so wonderful how "bad fanfiction" never had anything to do with characterization, language or simply the plot.
