"Close Every Door" A songfic of sorts by Sara Jaye Yes, my still-unfinished Slayers songfic was supposed to be my second one. ^^;; But I got lazy and kinda forgot about it...that, and I had that "Can't put the emotions into text" problem again. X_x I didn't plan on writing this one, but all of a sudden it just came to me. I was listening to an mp3 of "Close Every Door" from "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", and reading some lyrics, and suddenly I was hit with the inspiration to write this. So this will be my second songfic. :P Well, I dunno if I can call it a songfic...more like a version of the song with the Dark Kingdom Generals each singing a few lines, with a bit of narrative at the beginning and end and the lyrics altered near the end. ^^;; But that's enough talking for now. On with the story! :P [Disclaimers: Sailor Moon is the property of the ever-gifted Naoko Takeuchi-sama and Toei animation. None of the characters belong to me. The song "Close Every Door" and the musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" are property of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Only the alterations of the lyrics near the end are mine. This story is for entertainment purposes only, so please don't sue me. This story is very introspective and rather angsty, so if you aren't into/don't have the patience for that kind of thing, I suggest you leave now instead of reading this, then flaming me. :P It'd also be a good idea to leave if you aint into shounen ai, cause there's a bit of that in here also. ^-^ Otherwise, enjoy! ^_^] ~ "You better not fail next time or else!" The four men nodded. "Yes, Queen Beryl-sama," they said before the woman dismissed them. They said goodnight to each other, then one slid his arm around the other and headed for their room. The other 2 silently headed their separate ways, sighing. Jadeite sat down against the wall, drawing his knees up to his chest and resting his chin on his hand. Nephrite leaned against the wall as he stood in a dark corner of his observatory, gazing out at the night sky. Zoisite lay on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. Kunzite sighed, his back against the headboard as he looked down at the man lying next to him. Back in his room, Jadeite found himself beginning to sing out loud...a rather melancholy song. Soon, the others joined in... Jadeite: Close every door to me Hide all the world from me. Nephrite: Bar all the windows And shut out the light. Zoisite: Do what you want with me Hate me and laugh at me. Kunzite: Darken my daytime And torture my night. All: If our lives were important, why, We'd ask will we live or die But we know the answers lie Far from this world Kunzite: Close every door to me, Zoisite: Keep those I love from me, Nephrite: For those of the Dark Kingdom Jadeite: Are always alone. All: We pray that we shall find Our own peace of mind, And that someday we will be Granted lives of our own. Jadeite sighed, brushing away a tear and staring into the darkness of the room. Nephrite took one last glance at the stars, then looked down, his eyes closing as they filled with tears. Kunzite drew Zoisite closer against him, his silver eyes slowly meeting his lover's teary emerald ones. Zoisite looked sadly at his lover. "Will we ever break away from this, Kunzite-sama?" he asked softly. Kunzite sighed. "I don't know, Zoisite...I just don't know..." he said. The same question lay heavily on the minds of the 4 generals the rest of the night. "Will we ever break away from this...ever find our peace?" ~End~
